Singapore

The esplanade in Singapore |
Singapore, once a vast area of marshland just over a century ago, has progressed quicker than any other country in the Southeast Asian region could even attempt to. Now a First World country and the prime world financial business hub in the region, Singapore boasts of efficient transportation systems, beautiful island resorts, numerous world-renowned cultural events as well as exciting night life opportunities.
Attractions
Once a fishing village, Sentosa Island (“peace and tranquility” in Malay) is now a premier and popular tourist destination in Singapore, with its golf courses, island resorts on white sand beaches and various nature parks.
Singapore’s Chinatown is like no other in the region or anywhere in the world, largely because of various heritage sites that can be found in the area.
It’s in Paragon Plaza that you’ll find Singapore’s shopping district. Numerous shopping malls line this avenue, as well as world-class luxury shops. Food courts inside shopping malls are also great places to try different types of cuisines.
The Esplanade performing arts center holds Singapore’s many cultural events. It houses a concert hall, multiple theaters, an arts library, food center and exhibits in its lobby. Oddly shaped like a durian, this theater unifies the various elements that are present in Singapore’s melting pot of diversity.
